You can be a part of DCDC’s work by giving in any of the areas listed below.

Financial Gifts

Your contribution will help enhance the quality of life for the homeless and hungry, provide culturally relevant summer school instruction for under performing students at risk of being retained in their current grade, and provide safe, affordable housing for seniors in North Oakland.

Volunteer

DCDC needs volunteers for its Fishes and Loaves Community Feeding program to help prepare and serve food each Wednesday and distribute bags of groceries on Fridays.  Volunteers are also need to mentor low income residents of North Oakland seeking job referral and job readiness training.  In addition, office volunteers are needed on a periodic basis to assist with clerical and office management duties; and volunteers are needed to assist with special events and fundraising activities.  Call or email Mark Baldwin, DCDC Executive Director at 510.208.2900, or dcdcexec@yahoo.com.  to volunteer.

In-Kind Donations

DCDC accepts donations of paper, envelopes and other office supplies.  It also needs auction items for its fundraising events.  Below is a partial “Wish List.”

·         Three replacement desktop computers for the Bishop Roy Nichols Senior Housing Complex Computer Center

·         Canned food for Fishes & Loaves Community Feeding Program

·         Service donations including computer training for seniors

·         High-quality auction items including artwork, sports memorabilia, collectibles, hotel stays, timeshares, tickets to cultural events or sports games, restaurant meals, etc.
